Two matching pieces of tree burl from western Queensland make up this one-off timber serving board. Burl is a rounded knotty outgrowth on a tree. The good thing about burl is that it can be removed without harming the tree, so it is a sustainable source of wood. Burl is usually more expensive because of its beauty and scarcity (burl only grows when trees form these exterior growths, so it is harder to find).
Between the pieces of burl is a paper artwork of monstera leaves inlaid in pearlised resin. The entire board is encased in glossy resin. The back of the board has rubber feet to protect your surfaces.
