Sue's mineral photos look fantastic as prints, and I have exhibited several of her Australian Mineral Series 1 photos on canvas and paper in Sydney and Melbourne. I'm happy to now offer the photos as prints in my shop, and I have selected a range of sizes to choose from on the following media:
- stretched canvas (ready to hang),
- unstretched canvas (posted rolled in a tube),
- fine art paper (320gsm Sihl Masterclass Textured Cotton), and
- fine art paper (240gsm Eterna Elite watercolour paper - 38.5cm x 55cm only).
If you don't see the size you would like, please get in touch through 'Contact Us' and I'll do my best to meet your requirements!
Mineral Photo details:
Minerals rearrange light according to their own structure.
The colours produced by projecting wavelengths of light through a rock sliver under a polarizing microscope aid in mineral identification.
This photograph was taken by Sue Hanson during her career as a geologist and depicts a magnified view (under crossed polars) of twinned feldspar (plagioclase) and blocky biotite showing birds-eye extinction.
Rock thin section viewed at a thickness of 0.03mm (30µm). This photo is shared in Sue’s memory.
All of Sue's mineral photos can also be produced on ceramic tiles in a variety of sizes, please check out the 'Mineral Feature Tiles' section in this shop for photos and more details on this product.
Also available featuring this artwork are various items like mobile phone cases, clothing, stationery, tapestries etc on my 'not-handmade' site: www.redbubble.com/people/mineralphotos so please have a look there if you're after those items :-)
