Olivewood board with thin section mineral photography and clear crystal quartz pieces

This organic shape olivewood board has a thin section photograph of an Australian Mineral applied to the top and handle section of the board, sealed in several layers of food-safe resin. There are three large pieces of clear crystal quartz I have embedded on the top right of the board. The back of the board is plain.

The photograph depicts a magnified view (under crossed polars) of pyroxene crystals being altered by feldspar laths and was taken by my sister Sue during her career as a geologist.

Sealed with clear layers of food safe resin. The board can be used as a chopping board, or cheeseboard, taking care not to cut directly on the resin artwork. The board has been conditioned with food-grade mineral oil.

Dimensions of the board: approximately 32.5cm in length including the handle and 12cmwide. 1.8cm thick.

Not dishwasher, microwave, oven or cooktop safe (comes with care and cleaning instructions).
